Adroit Solar removed over 100 solar water heating collectors, and two large steel tanks from a San Diego condominium complex this week. The demo is in preparation for the installation of a 90 collector solar water heating system, capable of producing 2.4 million BTUs of heat per day. New California state rebates reduced the cost of this system by over 40%, and will save the complex thousands of dollars per year.
Each steel tank weighed over 3,000 lbs. The steel tanks will be replaced by state of the art fiberglass reinforced solar storage tanks manufactured by the Germany company Haase. The life expectancy of the new system exceeds 25 years.
